Serial Communication
Parallel  Communication
1 . Carries data one bit at a time.
1 . Carries multiple (8,16,32 etc) data bits simultaneously.
2 . Limited Throughput.
2 . Can provide very high throughput.
3 . Possible to achieve ‘Multiple Access’, hence used in shared communication channels.
3 . Difficult to achieve ‘Multiple Access’, hence used mostly for point to point communication.
4 . Needs less cabling.
4 . Needs much more cabling.
5 . Wireless channels is possible.
5 . Channel must necessary be wired.
