 DDL (Data definition Language) :-

A data base schema is specified by a set of definition which are extremed by a special language called a data description language or data definition language or DDL. The result of compilation of DDL statements is a set of table, which are stored in a special file called data dictionary. A data dictionary is a special file that contains ‘data about data’. This file is consulted before data is read or modified in the data base system.
The storage structure and methods used by the database system are specified by the set of definition in a special type of DDL called a data storage and definition language.
