WHAT IS JAVA?
Java is a high level language introduced by sum micro system in 1995.It is developed by a team under “James Gosling”. Java is becoming a standard for internet application . It provides for interactive processing and for the use of graphics and animation on the internet.
Since the internet consist different types of computers and operating system, a common language was needed to enable computers to run program that run on multiple platforms. Java was developed to address this needed. Java is an object oriented language built up on C and C++. It derives it syntax from C and its object oriented features are influenced by C++.
Java can be used to create application and applets. An application is a program that runs on the user computer, under its operating system (OS). An applet is a small windows based program that runs on HTML pushing a java enable web browser like “Internet explorer, Netscape navigator , Hot Java as applet viewer”.
